Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed by the label's debut female singer with Dreamville Records by J. Cole. The label debuted her first EP, Pho, in October 2016, and she was able to get recognition. The album that she released as her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox uploaded her music online in 2012, when she dropped her five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her single Bound along with her self-released mixtape Five Finger Discount. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes and in Sweat It Out July 21st the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole had her submit her tracks for the Dreamville Team later that year, as he wanted Rihanna to collaborate with her on some references. The announcement that she would sign with Dreamville Records was made on December 8th. She was featured on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. The singer released Pho, her debut EP, on the 21st of October in 2016. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. Also, she was featured in the music videos Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus together with Bas, her labelmates. The 16th of July, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanied music video on the 5th of September. The second single she released was called Grampa on the 9th of November. She then released on the 13th of November two singles titled The No One and Pedigree. Then she appeared on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track entitled Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single on February 26, 2019, to accompany her debut album with the same title. The 20th of February, 2019 a music video was made available for the track. The track has received more than 3 million views on YouTube within the debut week. The singer was a part of the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December the year 2018.
